9 AM Meeting NYTVF Screenings Announced!

9 AM Meeting is an official selection of the New York Television Festival. That means that our independent pilot is competing against forty-some other pilots, (ranging from 4 and 22 minutes in length) for fabulous prizes (including money, development deals, and bragging rights).

Our pilot is screening twice: Wed, Sep 22, 9:45PM at Tribeca Cinemas Theater 2 and Thu, Sep 23, 7:30PM at Tribeca Cinemas Theater 1, as part... of a 1-hour "Animation Block."

The screening is FREE FREE FREE (although there is a $4.50 handling fee for reserving tickets online, and reservations are highly recommended, due to the popularity of the festival).

My co-writer/co-star Matt and I would really appreciate your attendance -- having a receptive crowd could only help our chances in competition, and the festival thrives on having a full, enthusiastic house.

Tickets and more info available at NYTVF.com.

Episode Four of 9 AM Meeting, Plus a Bonus Guest Video!

9 AM Meeting extended its streak, coming in first at Channel 101 NY last night. Check out the new episode, and then go to our official site to see what you may have missed.

Also, the guys at Escape Pod Films were good enough to invite us to be guest stars on episode three of The Stryker Files (#2 at Channel 101). It was nice to step out from behind our cartoon faces for a while. See us in (live) action here:

9 AM Meeting Episode Four Debuts at Channel 101 TONIGHT!

Looking for a cool reason to brave the snow? Come to 92 Y Tribeca and vote to keep 9 AM Meeting on Channel 101. There's a great slate of shows this month, and I'll actually be appearing as a non-cartoon-actor in another show: The Stryker Files. It's a lot of fun for only $6.

9 AM Meeting Wins at the Channys

My webseries 9 AM Meeting won two of the four categories in which it was nominated, at Thursday's NYC Channy Awards. I picked up a statue for Best Animation or Special Effects and my collaborator Matt Koff and I got the award for Best Writing. It was a fantastic show, and many thanks to everyone who organized and put it together.

The Writer's Guild of America East put out a press release about our win here.

And you can read a summary of the show and get a list of all the winners on The Apiary.

Here are some photos of the event:

Lastly, there were several original videos shot specifically for the awards show, and I appeared in a couple. Check out the Craft Services video, written by Matt, and the Alibis video featuring all the nominees. ALL of the original Channy videos can be found here

9 AM Meeting Number ONE at 101!

If you weren't able to attend the Channel 101 screening, then you can still see the new episode of my and Matt Koff's webseries online. (It was the number one vote getter again this month with a 96.77 / 100% share!)

You can either watch it via YouTube (below) or on the Channel 101 site (101 site might be better, since the YouTube version has a glitch I can't get rid of).

Also, apparently we're Spanish-language radio stars.

9 AM Meeting at the New York Television Festival

Last month, the first episode of my show 9 AM Meeting (edited/illustrated by me, written & performed by me and Matt Koff) premiered at Channel 101 and was the TOP VOTE GETTER.

This month, Channel 101 is part of the New York Television Festival, which means a bigger, cushier screening venue; more attendees; media attention and probably other exciting things that I haven't bothered to figure out. We'll be having our WORLD PREMIERE of the second episode as part of this screening (this episode is totally different than the second episode currently available on YouTube--which both Matt and I both liked, but didn't think was the strongest representation of our work to showcase in the festival. So if you've seen that one, this one will STILL BE ALL NEW).

The screening is at 7 pm on Wednesday, September 23, at New World Stages (stage 2) -- 350 W. 50th St. b/w 8th and 9th Aves.

If you're unfamiliar with the Channel 101 concept, then this explaination, stolen wholesale from their website, should help:

"Every month, five-minute TV shows are screened for a live audience in New York City. The audience votes to renew some shows and cancel others. The top five shows become the new "prime time" lineup; losing shows are banished forever. The next month, prime time shows return with new episodes, pitted against each other and a crop of fresh new pilots."

So, clearly it's in our interest to encourage you to come out and vote for our show--but don't worry, they've smartly arranged it so that it's not just a numbers game. Each voter marks down their top FIVE shows, so people can shill for their friends, but merit still rules the day.

If you want to come, the show is FREE, but you'll probably want to reserve tickets online to ensure that you have a seat. There's a nominal $3.50 fee for reserving online, but that fee is per reservation, NOT per person, so if you get together with other people to reserve a block, you're still only paying $3.50 in total. One thing to note (if I'm reading my own reservation confirmation correctly, and I may not be), you need to pick up will call tickets by 6.

Channel 101 Winner

9 AM Meeting, the video short I did with friend and fellow Mr. Whitepants-member Matt Koff, was the #1 vote-getter at this month's Channel 101. You can now see it on their website.

Thanks to all who voted, and come out to see episode two, which will be part of a special Channel 101 screening at the New York Television Festival.

9 AM Meeting at Channel 101

Hey, why not come out and see my web-series 9 AM Meeting--you know, the one you can already see for free on the Internet--at the live Channel 101 NY screening this Wednesday?

For those not already in the know, what is Channel 101? According to their website:

Every month, five-minute TV shows are screened for a live audience in New York City. The audience votes to renew some shows and cancel others.

The top five shows become the new "prime time" lineup; losing shows are banished forever.

The next month, prime time shows return with new episodes, pitted against each other and a crop of fresh new pilots.

At Channel 101, your entertainment destiny is in your hands. If you like a show, nurture it with your votes and it will bloom into a series. If you don't like a show, it goes away. Wouldn't it be great if "real" television worked this way?

So drop by and vote for my show. If nothing else, it'll expedite production of new episodes since, if our ratings demand it, I'll have to keep cranking these things out.

Check out this video I did. It's the first in a series (provided that boredom and laziness don't prevent me from putting out more).
